Miss Kristyana Marie Jackson, 7-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John R. and Kimi M. (Lamb) Jackson of Elkhart, passed away with her family at her side at Memorial Hospital in South Bend on Sunday evening, Aug. 19, 2012, from injuries sustained during an invasion at the family’s home last Friday night.

Kristyana will be best remembered for being the perfect child of any parent’s dream; with her thoughtfulness, kind heart and compassion for others far exceeding that of a normal 7-year-old. A second-grader at Elkhart’s Mary Daly Elementary School, she was full of energy and enthusiasm in everything from academics to athletics. She was an advanced reader for her age and enjoyed being a member of several area soccer, basketball and gymnastics leagues. She also loved to dance, sing and swim, and had just recently discovered the thrill of “tubing” on some of the area lakes with members of her family. Her best times, however, were spent with her parents and her baby brother, John Jr., whom she doted on. “Family time” was spent spending Christmases at Chicago’s Navy Pier, dining at Sunny Italy or Texas Roadhouse with mom and dad, spending time at the Kalahari and Grey Wolf Lodge indoor water parks in Sandusky, Ohio, and going to Cedar Point to ride the roller coasters there as many times as she could.

She was preceded in death by her grandfather, John L. “Papa Limbo” Williams.

A celebration of Kristyana’s life will begin with visitation from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 24, 2012, at AGAPE Missionary Baptist Church, 248 W. Wolf Ave., Elkhart. Services will continue Saturday, Aug. 25, 2012, with visitation beginning one hour prior to the 11 a.m. funeral, also at the church. The Rev. Dr. Dannell Brown, Ph.D. of AGAPE and Pastor Ray Caudill of Willowdale Church of Christ in Elkhart will officiate, with burial to follow in Prairie Street Cemetery in Elkhart.

Arrangements have been placed under the care and direction of Billings Funeral Home of Elkhart.

Please come and join the family in celebrating the memory of this wonderfully, kind and caring little girl with the beautiful eyes.
