Civil War Union Army Officer. He served during the Civil war as Captain and commander of Company H, 17th Maine Volunteer Infantry. He was shot in the abdomen on July 2, 1863 during the Second day of the Battle of Gettysburg, and died of those wounds two days later at the III Army Corps Hospital.
