Sad to say that his son John Arthur Clarkson IV drown in a boating accident while working on a bridge near Booneville, MO. His daughter Tracy Lynn Clarkson passed away from a heart attack in Arizona. He had 3 brothers, Charles Elmer, Albert Ray and Jerry Lee Clarkson along with one sister Mary Josephene Clarkson Lovelace Turek.
Jr. loved his family, enjoyed fishing, running model trains and CB radios! He was known on the CB as Big H or Big Hawaiian.
Jr. was born in Olaa Hawaii that was later changed to Keaau, Hawaii.

PAYSON, Ill. -- John A. Clarkson Jr., 65, of 115 Hereford Drive, Payson, died Friday (Oct. 2, 2009) in the Blessing Hospital emergency room in Quincy. He was born on Dec. 22, 1943, in Olaa, Hawaii, a son of John Arthur and Daisy Villanueva Clarkson. John was a truck driver for many years. He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. John was a member of the Twin Oaks Club at Quincy. He enjoyed fishing, camping, model trains, operating his ham radio and citizens band (CB) radio. His radio handle was "Big H" or "Big Hawaiian." Survivors include one daughter, Lisa Bricker of Texas; two brothers, Charles E. Clarkson of Joplin, Mo., and Jerry Clarkson of Nauvoo; one sister, Mary Turek and her husband, Bob, of Ursa; three stepchildren, Jennifer Robertson, and Randeana Slater; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. John was preceded in death by his parents; one son, John A. Clarkson IV; one daughter, Tracy Clarkson; and one brother, Albert Clarkson. SERVICES: 11 a.m. Wednesday in the Duker and Haugh Funeral Home in Quincy, conducted by the Rev. Van McCullough and the Rev. Oliver Taube. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Godfrey Cemetery in Hunnewell, Mo. VISITATION: 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday in the Duker and Haugh Funeral Home in Quincy.
