He had 4 brothers and one sister: Mary Ethel Clarkson Stewart, Charles Earl, Marvin Edgar, James Otis and Augustus C. Clarkson.
He met and married Ura Belle Mefford on May 19th 1917 at Emden, MO. They had two son's Laurel Wesley born in 1918 and John Arthur II born in 1919.
He was a farmer and lived all of his life around the Hunnewell, Shelby Co. MO area.
He passed away in the Missouri Sanatorium at Mt. Vernon, MO. Due to TB, he was 78 years old.
