Mr. Willie Carl Scott, 83, of the Shoals community passed away Sunday, April 2, 2006, at Central Care. He was born Aug. 23, 1922, in Surry County to the late Benjamin Franklin and Sarah Spainhour Scott. Mr. Scott was retired from Duplan Corp. and Amos & Smith Hosiery and was a member of Shoals Baptist Church. He was an Army veteran serving in World War II. Mr. Scott is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Shirley and Barry Grogan of Pilot Mountain, and Terry and Dale McRoberts of Pinnacle; three granddaughters, Samantha Scott (Shawn), Ashley Howard (Brian) and Katie McRoberts; and great-grandchildren Hali Grace Scott, Sara Beth Scott and Lindsay Scott. Mr. Scott was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Reba Terry Scott, of 57 years; three sisters, Grace Adkins, Nellie Douglas and Josie McGee; and a brother, Rassie Scott. Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 5, at Shoals Baptist Cemetery, with the Rev. Bailey Elmore officiating. The family will receive friends after the service at the church and at the home of Mr. Scott. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care, 1326 N.
