DAUGHTER OF EARLY BELL COUNTY FAMILY IS CALLED BY DEATH

Mrs. Nancy P. Lancaster Dies – Came to Bell County in 1851

Mrs. Nancy P. Lancaster, 82, died at 12:45 p.m. Friday, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. J. L. McCulloch, 302 South Twentieth Street. Mrs. Lancaster had been in failing health for two years and had been seriously ill for two weeks.

Decedent was the daughter of E. H. Bigham, one of the first settlers of Bell County, having made his home near Temple in 1851.

Mrs. Lancaster is survived by two children, Joe Bates of Truscott, Texas and Mrs. [J. L. McCulloch] of Temple. She leaves 15 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

Services will be held at the residence of her daughter, 302 South Twentieth Street, at 2 o'clock this afternoon. Rev. R. J. Smith of Temple will officiate. Interment will be at Lancaster Cemetery, two miles [east] of Temple. Pallbearers will be: John Bigham, Claude Seybold, Bob Garrett, Charlie Bigham, Robert L. Worden and Sam Bigham.
