Funeral services for Hugh DeWitt Dickey, 79, farmer of the Kelso community, were held Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock at Ralston Chapel, with the Rev. R. E. Burroughs officiating. Burial was in Riverview Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Dickey died Saturday night at his home near Kelso, following a long illness.
He was a native of Lincoln County, son of the late John M. and Laura Vernon Tucker Dickey. He was a member of the Methodist Church.
Mr. Dickey moved to Chattanooga in 1910, where he entered the wholesale fruit, vegetable, and poultry business. He remained in Chattanooga until 1930 when he returned to Lincoln County where he had been active in farming until about a year ago.
He is survived by one son, Lois Dickey, Kelso; two sisters, Mrs. Rose Studebaker, Kansas City, Missouri, and Mrs. Emma Crawford, Memphis, Tennessee; and three grandchildren.
