Mr. Zoch passed away the morning of Tuesday, August 21, 2012 at the Care Inn of La Grange.

Walter Theodor Zoch was born on December 11, 1914 in Lee County, Texas to John & Maria (Schulz) Zoch. He was baptized and confirmed at Bethany Lutheran Church in Greenscreek and united in marriage to Gertrud "Minnie" Eschberger on September 17, 1939 at Ebenezer Lutheran Church in Manheim, Texas.

Walter was a farmer and member of St. Michael's Lutheran Church. He enjoyed gardening, picking pecans and doing anything that involved agriculture.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John & Maria Zoch; his wife, Minnie Zoch; his great grandson, Brandon Schulze; two sisters and one brother.

Walter is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Laura & Paul Schulze of Winchester; nine grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; one great, great granddaughter and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Walter Zoch, 97 of Winchester, Texas, are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on Friday, August 24, 2012 at St. Michael's Lutheran Church in Winchester with Rev. Nate Hill officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Arrangements by Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Giddings.

Memorials may be made to the St. Michael's Lutheran Church Repair Fund or to the charity of one's choice.
