Richard Hurst passed away peacefully on Saturday August 18, 2012 at the age of 90.

Richard was born in Clarence Center, N.Y. to the late Howard E. and Maude (Metz) Hurst.

He served in the U.S. Army in WWII. Upon leaving the service he worked for ESSO and the state of Delaware as a bailiff in the Court of Common Pleas.

He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Grace Brown Hurst, two step-daughters, Sandra Frey and Bonnie McEwan, three step-grandchildren Terri Falin (John), Kristine Moye (Michael) and Russell Frederick, five step-great-grandchildren, Scott, Taylor, Ryan, Nicholas, and Russell Jr.

He was a member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church for 42 years.

A funeral service will be held at Beeson Funeral Home 2053 Pulaski Highway, Newark DE 19702 on Thursday August 23, 2012 at 10am. A private burial will take place at Delaware Veteran's Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Aldersgate United Methodist Church.
