Donnie R. "Bowhunter" Griffin, 63 of Magnolia, Arkansas passed away on Thursday, July 26, 2012 at the John R. Williamson Hospice House in El Dorado.
He was born on February 28, 1949 in Gurdon, Arkansas to the late Tulley Ray and Betty Mae (Smith) Griffin. He was employed with Albemarle Corp., an avid hunter and fisherman, a member of Walkerville Cumberland Presbyterian Church, and never met a stranger.
He is preceded in death by his parents and his wife Sue Griffin.
He is survived by his children, Michael Ray Griffin and wife Brie'Anne of Rosston, AR, Amber Wells of Emerson, AR, Stephanie Lyons and husband Tony of Fayetteville, AR, Lisa Glass and husband Jimmy of Magnolia; his grandchildren, Brittany Lyons, Jesi Griffin, Abbie Wells, Will Glass and his wife Jessica; a great grandson, James Ryder Glass is expected in August; a sister, Barbara Key and husband Don of Malvern, AR; brother, Bud Griffin of White Oak Lake, AR.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, July 29, 2012 at 2:00 pm at Lewis Funeral Home Chapel with Michael Suttle and Don Key officiating. Burial will follow at Stewart Walkerville Cemetery under the direction of Lewis Funeral Home, Inc. of Magnolia. Visitation with the family will be Saturday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Emerson FFA Alumni, c/o Emerson High School.
Pallbearers will be Billy Samples, Edwin Triplet, Robert McKamie, Bobby Lewis, Steve Rowe, Troy Waller, Tony Munn, and Paul Key.
