Katherine is the daughter of Frederick Wilhelm Ring and Wilma E. Bailey.

She married Fred R. Schultz on July 4, 1943, at Reno, Washoe Co., Nevada.

The couple lived in Birney at the time of a terrible accidental fire which caused the death of herself and her daughter Susan. Katherine was survived by her husband, one daughter, and her parents.
