Joseph "Slats or Sticks" Soldano Jr., 77, lifetime resident of Pueblo, passed away June 14, 2000. Preceded in death by loving parents, Joseph Soldano Sr. and Leona Franco-Soldano; daughter, Julianne Soldano; brothers, Charles Soldano, Sam Soldano and Frank Soldano; sister, Elizabeth Sanders; and loving companion, Arlene May Soldano. He is survived by his compassionate sister, Josephine Mooney, (who sacrificed so much for his happiness and well being)brother, Carl (Mary) Soldano; son, David (Kathleen) Soldano; sister-in-law, Angelina Soldano; two grandchildren, Alexander Soldano and Darin Soldano; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Joseph was an honorable World War II and Korean Conflict veteran. He is best remembered as an affectionate, warm-hearted, "horse trader." In his spare time, he enjoyed spending time with his family, sharing his extensive musical talents and gambling with friends. He will be deeply missed by those whose lives he touched. Memorial Mass, 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 20, 2000, at T.G. McCarthy Rose Chapel.
