Letha M. Bensch, daughter of Ernest and Pearl (Louthan) Bensch, was born November 10, 1920 on the family farm near Chester, Oklahoma in Major County. She departed this life on Friday, August 17, 2012 at the Seiling Community Hospital at the age of 91 years.

Letha attended Lakeside School. She married Earl Gaylord in 1937 at Woodward and they made their home in Seiling where they raised their five children: Meredith, Ronnie, Scotty, Earlene and Gary. For many years, Earl and Letha owned and operated a Sinclair service station and grocery store in Seiling. In 1976, she married Harold Sizemore and they continued to make their home in Seiling until he preceded her in 1994. Letha was a wonderful cook and was talented at embroidery work and quilting. One of her favorite pastimes was playing cards with family and friends. She was baptized at the First Christian Church by Pastor Ewel Vaughan.

She is survived by her daughter, Earlene Schafer of Okeene, two sons, Scotty Gaylord and wife Sandy of Isabella and Gary Gaylord and wife Holly of Meeker, one brother, Jean Bensch and wife Cora Ellen of Chester, twelve grandchildren, twenty eight great grandchildren and fourteen great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, two sons-Meredith and Ronnie, son-in-law, Gary Schafer, one grandson, three sisters and three brothers.

The funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, August 21, 2012 at the First Christian Church with Pastors Orville White and Dennis Adair, officiating. Burial will follow in the Brumfield Cemetery. Memorials can be made to the Seiling Nursing Center, Brumfield Cemetery or the Seiling-Chester Center for Senior Citizens with the Redinger Funeral Home-Box 236-Seiling, OK 73663 serving as custodian of the funds.
