He was born in Prairie Grove,AR to James Clay and Myrtle McCormick Parks.

He was a World War II veteran and had a year's experience in air combat as a B-17 waist gunner. He was a co-manager of the Beverly Theater in Prairie Grove and worked at the family business, Prairie Grove Telephone Co., where he became president in 1958.

He was a member or leader in local, county and state organizations, including the Arkansas Telephone Association, Farmers and Merchants Bank in Prairie Grove, Prairie Grove First Presbyterian Church, Foundation Mental Health, Governor's Council for School Health Services, Highway 71 Parkway Commission, Ozark Guidance Board of Directors, Ozark Guidance Center, Pit Stop School in Fayetteville, Prairie Grove Lions Club, Prairie Grove Planning Commission, United Community Services, Washington County Democratic Central Committee, Washington County Juvenile Court and Youth Bridge Inc.

He was preceded in death by one son, Craig Parks.

He was 84 when he passed away at the Fayetteville City Hospital, Fayetteville, AR. I have a copy of his obit.
