He was the loving husband of Thyra M. Peterson Frisch whom he married in 1905. Their children were August "Gus" Werner Frisch; Anna Frisch born in 1909; William Frisch born in 1914; Edna Frisch born in 1917; and Helen Frisch born in 1918, Marion Frisch born prematurely and died in Oct 1921, and Dorothy Frisch born in 1925. He was drafted into World War I in 1918. He worked as a meat cutter in a butcher shop. He died at the age of 45 from complications of acute bronchitis and bronchial pneumonia.
