Samuel C. (sic) McElroy
Samuel C. (sic) McElroy, a well known resident of the southwestern part of Marion county, died at his home near Warren Tuesday morning. He had been in ill health for ihe past two years and bedfast for the past year. He was 72 years 2 months and 16 days old.
A son of the late John and Lavina Blackwood McElroy he was born on the old McElroy homestead, in Marion county, October 15, 1863, and the greater part of his life was spent on that place. November 2, 1904, he was married to Kate M. Bohon, who survives with the following children: Loren McElroy, of Detroit, Mich. Mrs. Harry Beadle, of Hannibal, Mrs. Robert Murray of this community, and Mrs. Jack Murray, at home. In early life he united with Andrew Chapel Methodist church and remained an active member of the congregation as long as his health permitted. He was a prominent farmer of this community.
Other surviving relatives are three sisters, Mrs. Nathan Fessenden, of Taylor, Mrs. Leonard Wilhelm, of Hannibal, and Mrs. Susan Swan, of Texas, and three brothers, Price McElory, of Bethel, Vaden of Kraft, Kan., and Hugh of this community.
Funeral services were held Thursday morning at Andrew Chapel.
