The Rev. Irvin H. Martin, 70, of 122 Beacon Hill Road, Ronks, died Monday afternoon at home. He had cancer.

Martin was the founding pastor of Christian
Fellowship Church. New Holland. where he served from 1971 to 1983. He then was pastor of Cedar Lane Chapel, East Earl, from 1984 to 1998.

He previously had worked as a Sales manager for Belmont Limestone, Paradise; J.E. Baker, York and Burkholder Quarries, Blue Ball. He later was a part-time salesman for Power Pro Equipment,New Holland, from 1984 to 1991, and Stoltzfus Enterprises,Honey Brook, from 1991 to 1998.

He attended Lancaster Bible College from 1963 to 1971.

He was a member of Christian Fellowship
Church and listed in the Who's Who in Religion,79th Edition of The Men of Achievement.

He was president of Christian Businessmen in the Octorara area and had served on the board of fellowship of International Missions for 19 years.

He was a member of Independent Fundamental Churches of
America.

As an avocation, he led church group tours through Europe and Israel.

Born in East Earl Township, he was a son of the late Clarence M.Martin and Anna Mary Hurst Martin Hoover.

He was married to Irene Smoker Martin for 50 years on June 2.

Surviving in addition to his wife are three sons, Wayne L., married to Glenda Martin Martin, and Jim I., married to Judy Myer Martin,both of Ronks. and Michael R.,married to Linda Kepiro Martin of Lancaster,eight grandchildren; and two Great Grandchildren.

He is also survived by a sister, Elva, married to Harold L. Good of Reinholds: and a brother. Raymond,married to May Weaver Martin of East Earl.

He was preceded in death by a grandson, Justin Martin.
