Spanish Bullfighter. After retiring with his health and his fortune he was persuaded to make a comeback on August 11th 1934. This was a fatal mistake as he was gored in the thigh and died of his injuries on August 13th. His friend, the poet and playwright, Federico Garcia Lorca dedicated a poem to him titled ‘Llanto por Ignacio Sanchez Mejias’.
