Draper- Beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend of scouting, Northrop Enniss Garfield, age 87 passed away at his home December 7, 1986 of causes incident to age.

Born November 25, 1899 to John Heber and Emma Woodard Garfield.

Married Celestia Ann Smith June 24, 1925 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.

He was a lifelong resident of Draper, graduated from Jordan High School, attended Utah State University at Logan.

Was active Student Army Training Co. and received an honorable discharge from the Army of the U.S. of WWI.

Active in LDS Church, served as a missionary in North Western States Mission. Served in the Bishopric Draper 2nd Ward, Temple worker, Ward Clerk, Stake High Council in Mount Jordan Stake. Scout Master, District leader, Merit Badge Counciler. Received Silver Beaver Award for his outstanding work in the scouting program in his District.
He will long be remembered by his scouting companions for his dedication to the scouting program.

He was a good farmer best known for his strawberries, tomatoes, cantoloupes and watermellons. He was employed at Utah Poultry and was Water Master for Draper Irrigation Company for many years. Also served as secretery for Draper Cemetery.

He is survived by his beloved wife Ann; sons, Earl J, Northrop Enniss Jr.; daughters, Mrs Justin (Anne) Covington; Mrs Lloyd (Beth) Sutcliffe; All of Draper:
Joan Garfield, Ruth Gordon Sandy; and Mrs Harold (Mary) Daw, Los Cruces, New Mexico. 32 grandchildren; 44 great grandchildren; bother and sisters Jack A., Mrs Katie Spratt, Mrs Lucille Harrington: All of Draper; and Mrs Zole Young, Monitcello. Preceded in death by a son Michael.

Funeral Services, Wednesday December 10, 1986 at Draper Utah Stake Center 13400 S. 1300 East at 12 noon. Friends may call at Goff Mortuary 8090 So. State Tuesday evening 6-8 p.m. and one hour prior to the services at the stake center. Burial Draper Cemetery. Contributions can be made to the Boy Scouts of America in lieu of flowers.
