Ruby Ada Herndon Burbidge was born December 16, 1914, in Pleasant Plains to Isaac W. and Irene E. McCoy Herndon. She married Robert K. Burbidge March 25, 1946, in Waukegan October 5, 1972.

Surviving are step-daughter, Ann Gibbons; nephews, Donald (Sandra) Herndon and Pastor Roger (Karen) Herndon and several great-nieces and -nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband October 5, 1972 and two brothers, Frank and Eugene Herndon.
