Cecilia Brenk Kucera, 86, of Boling passed away Monday June 14, 2004 in Bay City. She was born on April 12, 1918 in Woodburn, Oregon, the daughter of the late Frank Brenk Sr. and Mary Catheryn Duyka Brenk.
Mrs. Kucera was a 57-year resident of the Boling area and a former resident of the Jones Creek area and Wharton. She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Boling. She married Vitos August Kucera on November 7, 1938 in Wharton. He preceded her in death on April 7, 1982.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Frances Baca, Agnes Socha, Marie Boyd and Josephine Pavlovsky; and by brothers, Frank, Tony, Fred and Bennie Brenk.
Mrs. Kucera was a homemaker who enjoyed making kolaches and growing flowers and sweet peas in her garden.
The funeral mass will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday June 17, 2004 at Holy Family Catholic Church in Wharton with Father Joe Vrana officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery in Wharton. Rosary services will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday June 16, 2004 at the Wharton Funeral Home. Friends may call for visitation from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday, June 16, 2004 at the Wharton Funeral Home.
Survivors include her sons, David P. Kucera and wife, Suzanne of Pledger, Ronnie Kucera and wife, Sherry of Boling and Jerry Kucera and wife, Stephanie of Wharton; sister, Rose Cervenka of Rosenberg; brothers, Victor Brenk of Glen Flora and Theodore Brenk of Rosenberg; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers are Mark Koudela, Clint Hatchett, Shane Kucera, Keith Kucera, David Kucera and Jason Kucera.
