She was born Stptember 11, 1893, Spanish Fork, Utah. Daughter of Niels and Ann B Halverson. Married John Crookston, Jr., December 16, 1912 in Logan, Utah. She was a prominent vocalist in Salt Lake City for a number of years. Was active in all organizations of the LDS Church. She was a receipient of a 35 years service pin in the LDS Primary Association. She was President of the Salt Lake Council of Women, President of the Salt Lake County Democratic Women, Twice a delegate to the Women's Democratic Conference in Washington, D C. She was a delagate to the Western States Regional Conference at Glacier National Park. She was a representative of the Salt Lake Council of Women to American Assembly. She was an affiliate with Columbia University regarding the relationships between the United States and Canada. She was a member of the Utah State Legislative Council of Women the Service Star Legion. She was a volunteer Traveler's Aide for the Salt Lake Airport Civil Defense United Fund United Cerebral Palsey, President of the Salt Lake League of Business and Professional Women. She worked in the Salt Lake City Auditors Office until she was 82 years old.
Survived by daughters, Mrs. Thomas (Vera) Robbins, Mrs. James (Norma Jean) Benson, eight grandchildren; three great grandchildren.
Funeral services Thursday 12:00 Noon at McDougal Funeral Home 4330 South Redwood Rd., where friends may call Wednesday 6-8 p.m. and Thursday one hour prior to service. Interment: Valley View Memorial Park.
