David B. Walthall, son of William and Lydia Walthall was born in Vermillion County, Indiana, May 16th, 1856, and departed this life July 12th, 1916, at the age of sixty years, one month, and twenty-six days. He was united in marriage to Rosa Stanton December 16th, 1890 and to this union four children were born: Gladys, deceased, Christia Albin, Dora May, deceased, and Helen Elizabeth. Their home has been in and near Emporia. He was converted while a boy uniting with the Friends Church and lived a faithful member until the end. He leaves a wife, two daughters, two grandchildren, three brothers, three sisters, and a host of friends to mourn his departure. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. C.C. Haines and interment was made in the Cottonwood Cemetery.
