George Michael Kann arrived in this country on August 17th 1733 on the ship "Samuel" along with his parents Nicholas Kann and Cathrina (Soffina), and brothers and sister, Johan Hendrick, Johannes, and Dorothea. In 1736 they settled in Hellam twp. on 200 acres granted by Thomas Penn (son of William Penn) Nicholas named his plantation "Chestnut Level"
George Michael married Maria Barbara, they raised their family of 10 children on a farm near Admire, Dover twp. York, Co. PA.
children were Michael, Johan George, Maria Elisabetha, Anna Magdelena, Johannes, Johan Jacob, Johan Heinrich, Philiph, Johan Peter, and Catherine.
George Michael was a prominent member of the Reformed Congregation of York, County before 1754.
There is uncertainty about his date of death some research has it 1756 but since the birth year of his youngest child is 1761 it might be more likely 1762.
