Leona C. Boien (Nee Koerkenmeier) 84 of Trenton died Thursday August 2, 2012 at St. Joseph Hospital in Breese.

She was born December 9, 1927 in Aviston to Frank and Anna (Jansen) Koerkenmeier: they preceded her in death.

She married Jack Boien October 19, 1950 at St. Mary Church in Trenton and he preceded her in death December 27, 1963.

Leona was also preceded in death by a daughter-in-law Stephanie Boien, brothers Edgar, Arnold, Victor and Joseph Koerkenmeier, sisters Clara Elling, and Viola Stine, sister-in-law Alice Koerkenmeier, brothers-in-law Ted Elling, Kenneth Stine, Clem Lauberth

Surviving are her children Diane (Gene) Bazan of Fairview Heights, Charles Boien of Schaumberg, Richard (Pat) Boien of Trenton.
6 grandchildren Greg Bazan, Jackie (Bill) Minton, David (Stacey) Boien, Jennifer (Patrick) Jones, Paul Boien, Chris (Sara) Boien.
10 great grandchildren

Leona retired from Tempo Bank in Trenton after 25 years.

Leona was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Ladies Sodality past president and treasurer and a Eucharistic Minister, Life member of Trenton VFW Auxiliary Post 7983 past president and held numerous district 14 offices over the years.

Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday August 6, 2012 at 10:00 am at St. Mary Catholic Church in Trenton with Fr. Gene Kreher officiating. Interment St. Mary Cemetery in Trenton.

Visitation will be on Sunday August 5 from 4 to8 pm and Monday August 6 from 8 to 9:45 am at the Moss Funeral Home in Trenton.

VFW Auxiliary will hold services Sunday at 7:00 pm at the funeral home

Memorials can be made to St. Mary Church or Donor's Choice and will be received at the funeral home
