Grace V. Merritt 1921-2006

Grace V. Merritt, age 84, passed away peacefully at home in the care of her family on Tuesday, August 8, 2006. She was a life long resident of the Pensacola area. She was a devoted Christian and was a member of West Highland Baptist Church. She attended Ferris Hill Baptist Church after she moved to Milton. Her husband of 40 years, Clifton Merritt, preceded her in death.

Survivors include two sons & daughters-in-law, Marion Merritt (wife, Linda) of Anderson, SC and Curtis Merritt (wife, Gail) of Jacksonville, FL; two daughters & sons-in-law, Linda Hoffmann (husband, Dieter) and Nelda Knight (husband, Jack), both of Milton; 12 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; sister, Joyce Foley of Milton; two brothers, Lloyd & Clifford Blackmon of California.

Funeral service will be 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 12, 2006 at Faith Chapel Funeral Home South with Rev. Brian Nall officiating, assisted by Rev. Carl Sanders. Interment will follow in Pensacola Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be grandsons.

FAITH CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME, 100 Beverly Pkwy is directing.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, August 11.

Grace was a loving, caring and devoted mother and grandmother who always put family and others first. She will be deeply missed.
