Vernon Dean (Biscuit) Horton of Park Hills was born May 18, 1931, in Flat River.

He passed away Wednesday, March 3, 2004, at the Jefferson Memorial Hospital in Crystal City being 72 years of age.

Preceded in death by father and mother, Lee and Zora (Furry) Horton; three brothers: Othel, Harold, and Darvin; and one sister, Imogene Politte.

Surviving are his wife Bonnie 'Turley' Horton of Park Hills. Two sons, Duane Horton and wife Regina of St. Louis, Eric Horton, and wife Amy of Park Hills. Two granddaughters, Kiley Horton and Sophia Horton; brother, Milburn Horton of Farmington; sister, Glenda Sherrill of Park Hills; brother-in-law, Bill Turley and wife Shirley of Keller, Texas; two sisters-in-law, Violet Horton and Lou Horton; several nieces and nephews survive.

He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Park Hills, a member of the Desloge Masonic Lodge, a retiree from the Meramac Mining Company after 21 years of faithful service.

He worked for Central R-3 Schools in Maintenance for six years, served as councilman for the city of Flat River and Park Hills.

He coached little league and minor league baseball teams in Flat River and was a member of the Hardee's Breakfast Club.

Visitation today at 2 p.m. at the Caldwell Funeral Home in Park Hills.

Services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Park Hills with Rev. Bill Holbrook officiating.

Interment at the Woodlawn Cemetery in Leadington.

Memorials were made to the American Cancer Association.
