Doris Dorothy Warren Harrison, 89, of Votaw, TX, passed away Tuesday April 3, 2012. She was born Doris Dorothy Warren, in Waco, TX, and preceded in death by her parents, Harley and Gladys Warren. She was preceded in death by her last husband, Ross S. Harrison (Votaw, Tx). Also deceased are all the siblings: brothers... Harley "Bud" Warren, Weldon Warren, Robert Warren, and sister... Helen L. Warren McLaughlin. Departed just a couple of days before her, was her youngest great great grandson, Bryan Lee Longan, 4 months (great grandson of Carol).
She lived in the Big Thicket area in Texas for over 35 years. She enjoyed sewing and had a passion for gardening, studying herbs and nutrition. She loved to visit and welcomed friends. She loved her children and grandchildren. She was a member of Votaw Worship Center.
She was fourth generation Baptist. Her McIlhaney ancestors helped establish the Coryell Baptist Church in Coryell County, Texas, 1855. She was 3rd generation Texas Warren.
She outlived three husbands, Paul Corbett, Jerry Griffith and Ross Harrison of Votaw, TX, who passed in 2011.
She suffered a massive stroke in her Votaw home, then passed in the hospital at Conroe, TX., witnessed by daughter Carol and beloved brother Robert and wife Eddie Jean.
In honor of her wishes, she was cremated, with a brief memorial service held at her country home in Votaw, TX. This was witnessed by her daughters Carol, Diane, Patricia, and grandchildren... Deronda (husband Bob, their son Cameron), and Danette; as well as stepson Jeff and friends.
On Sept. 28, 2013, her cremains reside with her parents and many of the Warrens, in Chapel Hill Waco Memorial Park, Waco, TX. Witnessed by daughter Carol, granddaughters Deronda and Danette.
In 2012, she was survived by her brother Robert Joe Warren and wife Eddie Jean, her children, Carol Sue Corbett Ellis, of Tulsa, OK, Anita Diane Corbett Strack of Redonda Beach, CA, William H. "Bill" Corbett and wife Mary, of Washington, and Patricia Ann Corbett Misczuk and husband Bill of Pasco, Washington; 6 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren. And many nieces and nephews, cousins and "adopted" grandchildren.
