Seymour, Texas, July 17

Harry Baskin of Seymour was drowned in Elm Creek. A party of young men and ladies were having a few days' outing and were camped on the creek. Messrs. Alex, Britton, Joe Wheat, Guy Elkins and Harry Baskin were in the water seining, and the young ladies were witnessing the fun from the bank. The water was about 12 feet deep, and as the landing was hard. Baskin swam down the stream about 100 years to find a better landing. When within a few feet of the bank he cried to his comrades that he had given out and was sinking. Before assistance could reach him he had gone down for the last time.
