CHARLIE BELLE Dunaway Ward ROBERTS, 87, of Colorado Springs died Dec. 1, 1992, at a local care center. She had worked in textile mills in Alabama and Georgia.
Services by Blunt Mortuary, 2229 W. Colorado Ave. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Mountain View Care Center, 2612 W. Cucharras St., with the Rev. Vincent Bishop officiating. Burial will be in Alabama.
Mrs. Roberts was born Aug. 6, 1905, in New Site, Ala., to the Rev. Willis J. and Charlie Belle (Peters) Dunaway.
She had lived in Colorado Springs since 1974 and also had lived in North Dakota, Alabama and Georgia.
Mrs. Roberts was married to Lawrence Roberts, who died in 1975. She is survived by two sons, Reedie Jackson Ward of Charleston, W.Va., and Danny James Ward of Colorado Springs; a daughter, Tabitha Tinkle of Florissant; 13 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. 1st husband: Reedie Ward
DOB is 20 Apr 1905 in Alabama. Date of death is 18 May 1960 in Nevada, California. A son REEDIE WARD Born Oct. 5, 1927. & died Nov. 29, 2003. Gospel singer, Colorado Springs resident. Survived by a son, Reedie Jackson III, and a daughter, Jessica Ward-Bauguess.∼This is my great aunt.
She later married a Robert's after death of Reedie Ward.
