Marshall Kerr. who died at his home in Cherrytree township, Venango county, Pa., on October 19th. as chronicled in yesterday's Herald was born in Titusville on March 15. 1826 on what was known later as the Kerr Addition to the city. His father, Samuel H. Kerr, came here to survey and plot this section wiih Jonathan Titus at an early
period. He was born in Scotland and married to Catherine Cooder, a native Pennsylvania from whom descended Andrew Jackson, a prominent attorney
in New Albany. Ind. who died there; Johanna, who died early of consumption: James H., admitted to the bar in Franklin, later colonel of a regiment,
serving in the Pennsylvania volunteers 1861 to 1864 and very prominent as a criminal lawyer at Pittsburg: Michael C. a twin brother of the deceased, who rose to eminence as a lawyer, entered congress and was elected speaker of the house of representatives from New Albany, Ind.; a sister, Elizabeth, who died young in Titusville:
Joseph C. engaged early in mercantile pursuits and later became the owner of the Titusviile homestead: Amelia, who was married to Dr. Elliott of Erie, where she now resides. The subject of
this memoir was adopted by an aunt in infancy and inherited the farm upon which he has spent his lifetime and where his grave will be made.
The funeral will take place at his late residence Friday at 2 p. m.
