Delmer Brown has gone home to be with the Lord. Delmer passed away December 12, 2006 at Methodist Hospital. Delmer was born in Poole, KY and was a lifetime resident of Henderson.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Virginia "Snookie" Bennett Brown. Surviving are a daughter, Judy and Husband Jack Bozza of Chattanooga,TN. Three grandsons: Jeff Giles of Chattanooga, David and his wife Robin Giles of Grand Blane, MI and John Giles also of Chattanooga, TN. There are also three great grandchildren: Samantha, Andrew and Preston Giles all of Grand Blane,MI. Delmer also leaves three brothers; Lawrence David "LD" Brown of Henderson, Dr. B.F. Brown of Frankfort, KY. and Eugene Brown of Princeton, IN. There are also several nieces and nephews.

Delmer served as a radio operator with the US Army during WW II while serving in the Pacific and in Europe and enjoyed a career of more than 40 years in the furniture manufacturing industry in the surrounding Kentucky area. Many will remember Delmer as the quiet, soft spoken, fast walking supervisor with the former Delker's Furniture Co. of Henderson. A graduate of Webster High, Delmer maintained his membership with the Shady Grove Baptist Church of Webster but attended the Zion Baptist Church with Virginia.

Services are with Benton-Glunt Funeral Home, Friday, December 15, 2006 at 1:00 PM. Reverend Mark Galloway will officiate. Interment will be in Fairmont Cemetery, Henderson, KY. Friends may call Thursday, December 14, 2006 from 3:00-8:00 PM at Benton-Glunt Funeral Home and from 11:00 AM until service time on Friday at Benton-Glunt Funeral Home.

American Legion Worsham Post #40 will hold a grave side service.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Anthony's Hospice, 2410 S. Green St. Henderson, Ky.
