Isabella and her husband were living in Nicholas County in 1860, near the site that is now the Carnifex Ferry Battlefield State Park in Summersville. Their neighbors were her cousin Mary Ann McVey, (daughter of William Steele McVey) and her husband Henry Patterson. Possible cause of death was typhus, since other family members died of it the same year.
