Levi B. Oren, 91, died Thursday evening at his residence, 2900 W. Main St., following an extended illness. He was born in Highland County, Ohio, near Leesburg, and came to Delaware County in 1897. He has been associated with Oren Corporation since 1934, and earlier in his life was a farmer.
Mr. Oren was a member of Friends Church and IOOF 74.
Surviving are a son, Shafer Oren, Muncie; a daughter, Mrs. Warren D. LaRue, Evanston, Ill.; a sister, Mrs. Joanna Smith, Columbus, Ohio; four grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren. His wife, Bessie Shafer Oren, to whom he was married in 1901, died here in 1964.
Services will be held at Meeks Mortuary at 1 p.m. Saturday with Richard Newby, pastor of Friends Memorial Church, officiating. Burial will follow in the family lot in Elm Ridge Cemetery. Friends may call at the mortuary from 7 until 9 p.m. Friday, and any time prior to the services Saturday.
