Literary Figure. A collie, he was the real life subject of numerous articles and books by author Albert Payson Terhune, especially in the "Lad: A Dog" series. Buried on the grounds of the Terhune estate, his grave has become a pilgramage for dog lovers world wide. His stone which was dedicated by his master and mistress reads "Lad - thoroughbred in body and soul."
