“Services for Mrs. J.M. Roberson, 82, one of the pioneer citizens of Baylor County, were held at the Methodist Church officiated by Brother Rollo Davidson. Interment was in the I.O.O.F. cemetery.
Grandsons were pallbearers: Estal C. Parham, Chester B. Cox, Kenneth Holman, Cecil C. Parham, Foster P. Cox, John E. Parham.
Survived by husband; children - Mrs. C.W. Parham, Mrs. Joe Cox, Mrs. M.R. Holman, Wesley Roberson, Mrs. Clarence Guinn.
Three children preceded her in death.
She became a Christian at the age of 14 and joined the Missionary Baptist Church. After her marriage, she united with the Methodist church with her husband.
Laura Aslee [Acrey] Roberson was born in Rusk County, near Nacogdoches on her grandfather's plantation.
Laura Aslee Acrey married on 1 January 1888 at Duffer in Erath County, Texas by Brother O.W. Huggart at her home."
