Cedaredge resident, Dale Huggins, passed away on Thursday, May 31, 2012 at St. Mary's Hospital in Grand Junction, Colorado. He was 60 years of age.
Dale Gladen Huggins was born to Buck and Ruth (Schmurber) Huggins on October 1, 1951 in Houston, Texas. He spent his childhood and attended grade school in Bay City, Texas, he later moved to Boulder, Colorado where he graduated from Fairview High School in 1969.
On December 21, 1971 Dale married the love of his life Ellyn Meehan. They had two sons. The couple had the honor of sharing 40 years of love and marriage.
Dale honorably served his country in the United States Navy. After Dale's honorable discharge from the Navy, he went to work as a pipe fitter for the Department of Energy.
Dale was a member of the Steel Workers Union. His interests included hunting and fishing.
Dale is survived by his wife Ellyn Huggins of Cedaredge, CO; Two sons Ryan Huggins and Travis (Bonnie) Huggins both of Denver, CO; Mother Ruth Huggins of Louisville, CO; one sister Karen Hebbel of Ft. Collins, CO; Two grandsons Cade Huggins and Henry Huggins both of Centennial, CO.
Dale was preceded in death by his father Buck Huggins.
A graveside memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, June 15, 2012 at the Louisville Cemetery in Louisville, Colorado.
