Mrs. John Achs, age eighty-one years, passed away at 2 o'clock Tuesday morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Fred Wohl, five miles east of Crete. Death came after an illness of three days. She had been ailing for several weeks.
Mrs. Achs was born in Germany and with her husband came to the United States in 1883, locating on a farm seven miles southeast of Crete, where they made their home for about thirty-five years. Mr. Achs died about five years ago, and since then she has made her home with her daughter.
Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at the home at 1:30 o'clock and at the German Lutheran Church at Kramer at 2 o'clock, Rev. Albert Cholcher officiating. Interment will be made in the family lot near Kramer, where her husband and one daughter are buried. One son died while they were living in Germany. The deceased is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Fred Wohl.
