Elvira Catherine Timmons, 100, of Madisonville, KY, passed away Saturday, August 18, 2012 at NHC Healthcare in Madisonville.

She was born August 6, 1912 in Madisonville to the late Nettie M. and Pearl C. Williams.

She was also preceded in death by her first husband, J.B. Thomas; her second husband, Thornton Timmons; two brothers, John E. and Emil J. Williams; her sister, Thelma Coffman; and one nephew, Edward Glenn Coffman Jr.

Mrs. Timmons was a member of the First United Methodist Church where she attended the Isabel Gardiner Sunday School Class and the Wesleyan Circle.

She was survived by three nephews, John Davis of Thompson Station, TN, Malcolm Coffman of Coca Beach, FL, and Frank Williams of Madisonville, KY; three nieces, Emily Williams Lancaster of Ocean Springs, MS, Betsy Williams-Johnson of Madisonville, and Sue Bigers of Slaughters, KY, and many friends.

Funeral service will be 2:00 P.M. Monday, August 20, 2012, at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home with Dr. Bob Rice officiating.

Burial will follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery. Visitation will be 12:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. Monday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Methodist Children's Home and First United Methodist Church. Envelopes will be made available at the funeral home.
