In Andover Theological Seminary 1831-34; preached at Georgetown, Massachusetts, and at Broome St. Baptist Church, New York, 1834-36. Traveled through the United States, 1837; Profesor Ancient Languages at Wake Forest College, NorthCarolina, 1837-43. Ordained to Baptistministry, Wake Forest, North Carolina, April8, 1838; while there preached extensively to North Carolina and Virginia; pastor, Cavendish, Vermont, 1843-45; Greenville, NewHampshire, 1845-48; Hanover Center, NewHampshire, 1848-53; Meriden, NewHampshire1853-58; West Plainfield, NewHampshire 1858-63; resided at Hanover from1853. Member constitutional convention,1850; member of legislature 1850 and 1851;postmaster at Hanover, 1853-58; treasurer of Darmouth Savings Bank, October 23, 1860 to January 9, 1866. Unmarried. Died at Hanover, New Hampshire on February 7, 1882of paralysis
