MEADE COUNTY PIONEER OBITUARY – 01/10/1989
Mrs. Minnie C. Payne, 79 years old, of Big Spring, KY, died Sunday, January 8, 1989 at North Hardin Nursing Center, Radcliff, KY. She was born September 21, 1909 Big Spring, a daughter of the late Owen & Cora (Preston) Carman. Mrs. Payne was a housewife and a member of High Plains Methodist Church. She leaves her husband Llewellyn W. Payne; 2 daughters, Mrs. Katherine Gritton and Mrs. Juliet McCoy, both of Big Spring; 2 sons, Ralph Payne and Donald Payne, both of Louisville, KY; 1 sister, Mrs. Bessie Whitworth of Big Spring; 2 brothers, Oscar Carman and Floyd Carman, both of Big Spring; 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. (EST) Wednesday, January 11 from the chapel of Alexander Funeral Home with the Rev. Ralph Lee officiating. Burial will be in Cedar Hills Cemetery directed by Alexander Funeral Home of Irvington. Visitation will be after 3 p.m. Tuesday, January 10.
