Floyd W. Hoofard, who lived in Vancouver for one year, died Sunday, Jan. 11, 1998, in Vancouver. He was 92.
A funeral will begin at 2 p.m. Saturday at Bateman Carroll Funeral Chapel in Gresham. A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Cooper Funeral Home in Tecumseh, Okla. Burial will be in Tecumseh Mission Cemetery.
Mr. Hoofard, who was a farrier in the Army, was born March 6, 1905, in Trousdale, Okla., and raised in the Oklahoma Territory.
Mr. Hoofard, a 47-year member of the Machinist union, Lodge 284, in Oakland, Calif., retired in 1967. He was a baseball fan and enjoyed yard work.
Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Fay, at home; three daughters, June Nack of Portland, Carolyn Cooper of Wagoner, Okla., and Peggy Taylor of Milwaukie; two sons, Floyd of Joseph, Ore., and Stanley of Vancouver; four brothers, Loyd of Chico, Calif., Woodrow of Paynes Creek, Calif., Boyd Royce of Red Bluff, Calif., and Clarence of Lexington, Okla.; two sisters, Gussie Cox of Dothan, Ala., and Velma Wiley of Orange, Texas; 17 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to the hospice program of donors choice.
