Charlene L. Brown was the daughter of Lester Almon Brown and Gladys (Sally) May VanBuskirk, Fauver Brown. She was born Jan. 19, 1934 in Kent County, Grand Rapids, Michigan, at home. Charlene had 8 children, Janet Lee dying from crib death as an infant. She married first, Robert Charles Taylor, and had 2 children, Patricia, and James. She married second, Jack Dale Loveless, and had Janet (deceased), April, Heather, Shawn, Janine, & Kevin. Charlene loved horses since she was very young and went on to become a 4-H leader for horses while living at Newaygo, Mi. She also enjoyed music and had an extensive cataloged collection of cassette tapes (now owned by April). She taught herself many things and made gorgeous crocheted afghans. She remodeled houses, butchered chickens, cooked on a wood stove, fixed her own dryer and hot water heater, raised and did grooming for Wire-haired Fox Terriers, and sewed for her children. She played guitar and chord organ, obtained her GED in later life, and also studied for her real estate license. (Not sure if she ever took the test) She was always very thin, developed hearing loss in one ear in later life and had arthritis. When her youngest child was 18, she divorced Jack, and later had a long-term relationship with a man named Bill Marshall. After he passed away, she started to go downhill and developed dementia. She learned how to use a computer and did extensive genealogy work on the family which became an obsession as her dementia worsened. She passed away at her home in her sleep but her body was not discovered for about a week and no autopsy was performed. They put COPD as her cause of death but her children all believe she was just done with this life. She was the most innovative, independent, and resourceful person I've ever known and was great fun to be around in her younger years
