Daniel J. Burns, 85, of Cheswick, died Friday, Aug. 17, 2012, in UPMC St. Margaret, Aspinwall. He was born Nov. 20, 1926, in Pittsburgh, to the late Daniel Edward and Hilda Luntz Burns, and a resident of Cheswick since 1972. He was a retired sheet metal worker for Local 12 for 62 years. A World War II veteran, he served in the Navy. Mr. Burns was Catholic by faith. He was a member of Sheet Metal Workers International Association Local Union 12, Pittsburgh, and the Bloomfield Liedertafel Singing Society. Surviving are two sons, Daniel J. (Mary) Burns, of O'Hara Township, and Bill Burns, of Cheswick; three daughters, Linda Schreyer, of Springdale, Nancy Koss, of Burgettstown, and Teri (Dan) Ferrick, of Upper Burrell; 10 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and sister, Joan Stinelli, of Bloomfield. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dolores E. Burns; son, Joseph Burns; grandson, Daniel Reyes; and five siblings. Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday in Springdale at the CHARLES B. JARVIE FUNERAL HOME INC., 801 Pittsburgh St., where a blessing service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday by the Rev. Alan E.
