Bert Lake, 82, 1522 N. 600W, died at 6:05 a.m. Friday at home.
He was born in Grant County to the late Ross M. and Izella (Foster) Lake. He was a 1938 Sweetser High School graduate and married Iva M. Nightenhelser on Feb. 14, 1943. She survives.

Mr. Lake was a self-employed farmer and a bus driver for Oak Hill United School Corp. for 17 years. He was also a 50-year member of the F&AM Lodge 601, Converse, and the Scottish Rite.

Also surviving are a son, Michael, Las Vegas; two daughters, Nancy (Robert) Younce and Carol Murphy, both of Sweetser; two sisters, Ferol, Las Vegas, and Beulah Rich, Shelbyville; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, Fred, Tony and Harry; and three sisters, Cloe Wysong, Catherine Beard and Dottie Ringo.

Services are at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Raven-Choate Funeral Home, 1202 Kem Road, with the Rev. Matthew Stultz officiating. Burial is in Grant Memorial Park cemetery.

Visitation is 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to Shriner's Children's Hospital.
