Bio for James Marsh 1820-1898 FAG # 95508663 He is my 2nd great grandfather. Do not know if all this will fit, but here it is:
Born in Pennsylvania of Josiah L. Marsh (1781-1876) and Elizabeth McCutchen (1795-1882), James Marsh (1820 – 1898) was the oldest child with three younger sisters, Sarah, Rachel and Nancy. The family moved from Pennsylvania to Clark County, Ohio sometime before 1850. James married Keziah Mathews 15 Dec 1848 in Madison Co., Ohio. According to his obituary James and Keziah were Clinton County pioneers arriving about 1844 with three small children. During their first residence in Clinton Co three more children were born. They moved for a short time to Vermilion Co. Il where daughter Ella was born in 1860. They returned to Clinton Co after 1860 where James was a farmer, carpenter, wagon maker and upstanding citizen. At the age of 43, James Marsh enrolled in Company K, 72nd Regiment Indiana Volunteers of the U.S.Army. He served with Dr. Brown's company as a wagon maker. From 1863 to 1873 three more children are born. Ten of their eleven children live to adulthood. James dies four years before his wife in 1898 at the age of 78 from "Lagrippe". His obituary stated he was a merchant, member of the UB Church, and a Mason.
