Sammie was the son of Benjamin Cooley Johnson & Ada Williams. He married Bertha Irene Davis and had two children: Elise & Bennie Lee. Elise married Dillard McLerran and had two children; Kathie and Kenneth. Kathie died when she was eleven years old when her robe caught on fire. Kenneth was murdered by his wife, Ginger Smith. Bennie Lee married Mertie Ann Murphy and had two children; Barbara Faith and Mitchell Lee. Barbara married Ricky Birge and had two sons; Nicholas Lee and Adam Kyle. Nicholas had one son; Ashton Chandler. Adam married Mary Bartley, daughter of Ricky and Pam Bartley. Mitchell married Connie Harper, daughter of Elem and Patty Harper, and had one daughter; Tracy. Tracy married J.D. Brown and had two children; Aubrey and Avery.
