Dr. Archimedes Abad Concon is the son of Juan and Rosario Concon. Born in the Philippine Islands, he attended medical schools in the Philippines, London University in the United Kingdom and Harvard University in Massachusetts. He later married Olivia Irene Spears Duvall where he had had three children with her. After Olivia's death, he later remarried to a Janice Brown (formerly Kothe) and had had a daughter with her. His last marriage was with Minnie Ann Gammill (formerly Ford). He practiced internal medicine in Memphis, Tennessee. As well as practicing medicine, he was also heavily involved in researching alternative medical treatments for diseases like cancer plus a continuing love affair with physics. He wrote extensively on medical theory and his writings were published numerous times in various medical and scientific journals. He also enjoyed playing various British and German tunes on the piano.

His other accomplishments:

Lieutenant Commander, US Navy Medical Corps Reserve
Graduate:
University of the Philippines Medical School
Harvard Medical School (Graduate Studies)
London University Medical School (Graduate Studies)
Life Member, British Amateur Scientific Research Association
Life Member, The Royal Society of St. George

He is the second great grandson of Carpio Concon and Ambrosia Castillo; great grandson of Gregario Concon and Damiana Labor; grandson of Isodoro Concon and Francesca Sumabong. His father, Juan Sapong Concon, moved the family line to Luzon after many generations in Cortes, Bohol.

He was attending church service at the Second Baptist Church on the day of his death. It was reported by a witness who was cradling my father the moment he collapsed that he stated the last few moments before his final breath: "Philippines is spelled with only one L."

My father was always to the point.

O Captain! My Captain! BY WALT WHITMAN

"O Captain! my Captain! Our fearful trip is done, The ship has weather'd every rack, the prize we sought is won, The port is near, the bells I hear, the people all exulting, While follow eyes the steady keel, the vessel grim and daring; But O heart! heart! heart! the bleeding drops of red, Where on the deck my Captain lies, Fallen cold and dead. O Captain! my Captain! rise up and hear the bells; Rise up—for you the flag is flung—for you the bugle trills, For you bouquets and ribbon'd wreaths—for you the shores a-crowding, For you they call, the swaying mass, their eager faces turning; Here Captain! dear father! This arm beneath your head! It is some dream that on the deck, You've fallen cold and dead. My Captain does not answer, his lips are pale and still, My father does not feel my arm, he has no pulse nor will, The ship is anchor'd safe and sound, its voyage closed and done, From fearful trip the victor ship comes in with object won; Exult O shores, and ring O bells! But I with mournful tread, Walk the deck my Captain lies, Fallen cold and dead."
