Costume and Fashion Designer. Miller studied design at the Chouinard Art Institute in California. Initially unable to find work in the entertainment industry, he worked in a flower shop in Beverly Hills, where he met television producer Aaron Spelling, who commissioned him to create costumes for some of his colleagues television shows. Tina Louise's Ginger was shipwrecked on 'Gilligan's Island' in a beige gown he designed. On 'The Addams Family', Morticia's iconic long black gown, evocative of a cobweb, was his creation. He also designed outfits for 'Green Acres', 'Charlie's Angels', 'Hart to Hart' and 'The Love Boat', but Miller's biggest successes came during the 1980s for the costumes he created for 'Dynasty' and its spin-off, 'The Colbys'. From 1983 to 1987, he was nominated six times for an Emmy Award, and won in 1984 for his work on 'Dynasty'. He also maintained a career as a private couturier and jewelry designer in Beverly Hills, with clients that included Sophia Loren, Elizabeth Taylor and Joan Collins. Miller, who was married and had no children, died after battling lung cancer for several years.
