Thaddeus was a son of Richard Hine & Abiah Jenkins.

Thaddeus served in the War of 1812.

He served as a Private in Capt. Aaron Soule's Company, Lieut. Col. Cyrus Clark's Regiment in the Massachusetts Militia. His unit was raised at Turner, Maine and served at Portland, Maine.

He was married about 1816 to Bethiah Merrill.

They had 5 children:
